Project Profile

ATL Department of Aviatiion - Domestic Taxi Hold Lot

Project Description

This project relocated and constructed a new CV and Taxi Hold Lot facility (parking lot and building). A bridge and roadway was constructed to provide access. The west portion of the Ground Transportation Center (GTC) roadway was demolished and reconstructed. The old Hertz parking deck and associated building was demolished as part of this project. This facility received LEED Silver by the USGBC, using state-of-the art systems, such as:

  • Hi Efficiency VRF HVAC System
  • DDC HVAC Controls
  • Exterior Lighting Controls
  • Interior Lighting Controls
  • Photovoltaic Renewable Energy
  • Among others
This project was completed in October 2017 and it features a 20,000 SF facility, including private offices, lounge area, Urdu room, prayer room, recreational area, commercial kitchen, and restrooms. This project is somewhat atypical in that the building is actually a support space to the parking lot instead of the vice versa.

Energy Management Consulting led the total building commissioning process for this facility. Systems within the commissioning scope were mechanical, lighting, plumbing, and renewable energy.
